The George Municipality Fire Department recently took delivery of a specialised multi-use 4×4 tractor for the clearing of firebreaks across the municipal area.
The department had until now shared a general tractor with other departments. The funky new addition to the fleet is designed to access rugged terrain typical of the areas surrounding the George municipal area and is fitted with a specialised blade in front to scrape roads and a brush cutter (bossiekapper) at the back for cutting grass and fine brush.
